Software for The Minimization of The Logic Functions
(International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh,, 2021-03-27) Rahman, Mohammad Osiur; Islam, . Md. Nurul
The design and operation of software based on Karnaug}t mapping method was undertaken to simplifying the logic function and to draw the relevant circuits. In the present software, the user selects the input variable and gives the decimal value of the corresponding minterms. The software constructs the Karnaugh map (K_map) corresponding to the input variable. Entries of J are made in the cells corresponding to the min terms that make the function a J in Sum-of-Product (SOP) form and D's are entered in the remaining cells. The software simplifies the Boolean function by correctly grouping the adjacent 1 's.On simplification the software implement logic circuit automatically. The software convert numbers from one number system to another, perform basic binary arithmetic, evaluate and simplify a Boolean and logic functions. It also analyzes a combinational logic circuit to obtain its switching functions, design a combinational logic circuit, simplify the design, implement the design using SSI, MSI, and programmable logic devices. It further analyzes synchronous sequential logic circuits, design synchronous logic circuits using state diagram and ASM chart, simplify the design circuits,. and implement the design circuits using SSI, MSI, and programmable logic devices. Simulate the design circuits using all software. It is also applicable for Neural Networks software for the minimization of the logical functions and may follow Canonical Binary Functions.

Teaching and learning English at the tertiary level in Bangladesh
(International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh,, 2021-03-27) Mahmud', Mohammad Riaz
The article aims at exploring the ways of learning English ill a non-native background and the limitations of effective teaching in a non-native country like Bangladesh. An attempt has been made at the very beginning of the article to differentiate between the process of learning a first / native language and the process of learning a second / target language for the learners' better understanding of the ways of learning English. Causes of failure for both the learners and the teachers have been identified and ways have been suggested to overcome the problems. Effective teaching techniques have been discussed and suggestions have been made for effective English Language Teaching at the tertiary level in Bangladesh.

Foreign Direct Investment In Bangladesh: A Case Study On The Textile Sector
(International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh,, 2021-03-24) Sobhani', Farid Ahammad
Textile was declared as a 'Thrust Sector' in 1992 aiming at attracting foreign direct investment in Bangladesh. This stimulating thrust sector is now being threatened by several factors. The textile sector of the country has been facing crisis after a sLump in orders from abroad - especially from the USA since September 11, 2001. Besides, in a quota free and GSP free situation after the year 2005, the countries from where the fabrics are being imported are Likely to emerge Bangladesh's competitors in the internationaL market. However, the time to revitalize the sector is passing by and the Government of Bangladesh aLong with private promoters shouLd take necessary measures immediately in this regard. This study provides a detaiLed description on FDI in Bangladesli with special emphasis on the textiLe sector. A number of recommendations have been made at the end of the paper to take remedial actions in order to regain the sector as well as to enhance FDI in the country.
