    Interrelationship Between Globalisation And National Responsiveness: An Analytical Approach

    This paper presents a theoretical argument on the Globalisation' and 'National Responsiveness'; the most talked about issues of today's business 'world, whether they are diametrically opposed or symbiotic. The degree of relationship between Globalisation and National Responsiveness are also shown through the analysis of different cases of l\{HCS. Different international cases of lvfNCs have been critically discussed in the argument in different viewpoints of Globalisation and National Responsiveness. However. A matrix, 'Globalisation and National Responsiveness' has been discussed to analyze the strategic viewpoints of MNCs while considering the globalization effect and national responsiveness in global business operation. The argument of the paper has been viewed in fwo dimensions, one is how does national responsiveness impact on the corporate culture of lvfNCs international business and two is how does national responsiveness affect the business operation (Such as marketing) in international business.

    Delphi Technique in Urban Poverty Alleviation in Bangladesh: A Case Study of Rajshahi City

    This study aims at investigating scholastic thoughts regarding poverty alleviation in Bangladesh. Two round Delphi techniques were applied to obtain experts’ opinion in support of probable resolution of poverty. University academics, government officials, non-government executives, and social & political personalities have been considered as scholars. The study reveals that limitation of job is the fundamental cause of poverty. Consequently, the poor are bound to live in vulnerable unhygienic places where inadequate services are prevailing. It is also opined by the experts that home-based work and special training will help the poor to get job that will lead to reduce poverty to a great extent. A lack of integration is evident among different opinions of the scholars. As a result, the poverty reduction efforts show insignificant achievement in view of its goal. A number of suggestions have been recommended to alleviate poverty in the urban area like Rajshahi city in Bangladesh

    Managerial Leadership: An Islamic Perspective

    Islam is the guide to eradicate all problems in our social life. Allah (Swt) has addressed the believers as Ummah, which implies the necessity of leadership in Islam. Allah says to his Prophet Mohammad (Sm) “…I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion” (Surah Al-Maidah). Mohammad (Sm) says “Every one of you is a shepherd and every one of you is responsible for what he is shepherd of” (Sahih Al Bukhari).Islam as a complete code of life has a set of principles, guidelines for managers to lead the human resources in an organization. This study is an attempt to find out the basic guidelines laid down in Islam for managerial leadership. It has pointed out the operational principles of managerial leadership, managerial grid theory, leadership continuum, team building- team spirit and qualities of a managerial leader from the Islam perspective.

    Management Historians in the 1990s: A Review of Their Lives & Prime Contributions.

    The Management History Division (MHD) of the Academy of Management, NY records critical and scholarly discussion, refection and research in the arena of management history. It supports the development of historically informed analyses and explorations of management practices and of management philosophy and thought. The authors aim at focusing on three key members of MHD i.e. Charles Deck Wrege, James C. Worthy, and Alfred A Bolton who have contributed a lot in the field of management history during 1990s. Each of them has significant contribution to the area of management history and each has proved himself a teacher and intellectual leader in matters of fundamental concern to management history.
