Item Modernization Of Madrasah Education In Bangladesh: A New Approach For Future Development(The Regional Seminar On The Islamic Higher Education Institutions 2012 (Seipti 2012)”, 2012) Islam, Mohammad SaifulThe role of Madras education in Muslim communities is significant in developing nations. In Bangladesh, madrasahs (a place of Islamic theological education) are playing vital role in socioeconomic development. The approach to an Islamic education received in madrasah in the contemporary Muslim nations is criticized for its so call conservatives and stagnancy. More importantly, the incident of 9/11 Terrorists’ Bombing of WTC in U.S.A has led to intense attacks and criticisms on the madrasah system in the Muslim countries. Madrasah education in Bangladesh is a parallel system of mainstream general education. Within it, there are two streams of madrasahs covering primary, secondary as well as higher levels- the AÑliya madrasahs that broadly follow the national school curriculum together with religious lessons and are recognized by the government and receive government subvention, and qaumi madrasahs (non government schools) that do not follow the national school curriculum but focus more on religious teachings without receiving any government subventions. This paper intends to discuss about the historical background of madrasah education in Bangladesh, and what are the problems and the challenges in the way of modernization from the present context. This paper also aims to look into a new approach to make madrasah education productive and innovative. There is no doubt, Islamic banking in modern world aims to promote and develop the application of Islamic principles, law and traditions to the transactions of financial, banking and related business affairs that are acceptable and consistent with the sharÊÑah guidelines comprehensively. However, Islamic banking system safeguards the Islamic communities as well as societies from all activities that are forbidden in Islam. So therefore, this study will discuss the role of sharÊÑah observer (murÉqÊb) in monitoring the process of review and analysis system in Islamic banking operation. It will also explain the sharÊÑah guidelines that have been applied by the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited since its commencement. ShaifulbahriThe Qur’an came down in economic driven policy; because the Qur’an connects the belief in Allah firmly with socio economic justice. In Islamic economic system, SharÊÑah audit is an important tool which directs the systematic process of collecting and evaluating evidence to form an opinion about an entity’s status. The rapidly growing Islamic banking and finance industry is ultimately an endeavor based on an adherence to SharÊÑah principles and guidelines. At the same time, SharÊÑah governance framework is the SharÊÑah audit and compliance process which serves a vital role in providing public assurance about the governance of SharÊÑah products and services. In this regard, it is essential to have a comprehensive SharÊÑah control system to ensure that all products and services in accordance with the SharÊÑah. The main objective of this paper is to show the evidence of SharÊÑah audit in the Qur’an. This study gives an introduction to SharÊÑah audit from the Qur’anic perspective and also identifies the basic features and objectives of SharÊÑah audit. As a result of that, IBBL is playing a vital role in the rural area in applying the scheme namely (RDS) in poverty alleviation. The aim of this study is to analyze the performance of the RDS scheme of IBBL in the rural area. This paper will also discuss the achievements of this scheme in the present context to evaluate its performance. Finally, the researcher will come up with some suggestions and recommendations for further improvement.Item Utilizing Zakat Money For Development: A Case Of Madrasah Education In Bangladesh(International Language and Education Conference, 2013) Islam, Mohammad SaifulThe payment of Zakat by the owners of wealth is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is acceptable in Islamic Law to distribute Zakat to the eight categories listed when and where it is considered to be most needed. One of the main priorities of today is the education of young Muslims, in order to preserve and develop their Islamic identity and self-awareness. This paper attempts to study how do Zakat contributes to develop the madrasah education and to show how it is a valuable way to help Islamic education in Bangladesh. This paper will address basically the following questions: 1) How do Madrasah manage their finance, income, and expenditures? 2) How do Madrasah compare with secular schools? 3) Are Madrasah students eligible for food-for-education, textbook, and scholarship stipend programs? This paper will also study the potential effects of Zakat implementation within the context of contemporary society in developing Madrasah education. It deals with all the subjects which concern human beings; wisdom, doctrine, worship, transactions, law, etc. At the same time, it provides guidelines and detailed teachings for a just society, proper human conduct, and an equitable system in every single part of human life. The perception on women in judicial leadership as a judge is a subject of much debate. In Islam, the patriarchal nature of its religion texts poses a number hurdles for some Muslim scholars. Among some classical as well as modern Muslim scholars, a predominantly negative conception of women is found, who believe in the universal equal rights of man and women, but mostly held traditional views on women judgeship. This paper aims to examine perception on women in judicial leadership as a judge from Islamic legal perspective, focusing on two views of both classical and Contemporary Muslim scholars. First, opinion favouring women’s participation in judicial system. Secondly, proscriptive opinions regarding judicial system. This paper also contributes Shariah based guidelines on how women successfully participate in leading judicial system as a judge in modern context. The paper will therefore discuss on a particular university (IIUC) which is playing a key role in Islamizing knowledge in Bangladesh presently. This paper aims to look into the new proposal for IIUC to run it towards excellent university in terms of Islamization of knowledge. This paper examines the role of Dr Sayed Ali Ashraf in Islamizing knowledge that he made an original and considerable contribution to the regeneration of Islamic education drawn from the Islamic world view. It aims to discuss also the foundations of the movement of the Islamization of education throughout the world with especial reference to Bangladesh by Dr Sayed Ali Ashraf. YousufIslamic Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in Bangladesh play a vital role in alleviating poverty and nation-building in a globalized era. NGOs play a vital role in a developing country like Bangladesh. The 2 number of NGOs in Bangladesh is in excess of 20,000 in the midst of the year 2009 registered with five different government institutions. Among these, only 34 Islamic NGOs are actively taking part few numbers of Islamic NGOs is found in Bangladesh. These Islamic non government organizations have been playing an important role in socioeconomic, cultural and political development in the country. This article briefly introduces the current position of Islamic NGOs in achieving their target compare to other organizations based on their contribution. In line with this statement, the paper attempts to explore the management systems of Islamic NGOs and their functions in terms of development of the country.
