dc.description.abstractSmart Bus Tracking and Management System is an application which monitors and updates each station's distance data along its path. This system consists of installing an electronic device in a bus, to let the user monitor the location of the bus. Two applications are open. One for the server, the other for the customer. The web server controls the system of the bus, bus position, passenger entry, seat vacant and bus speed. Each bus carries a Wi-Fi module to track their position. By this position to server are periodically updated. Client application displays a map showing the position of bus. This application detects total number of passengers in the bus and bus running speed by using obstacle sensor. The web server will display speed while the bus is running. During the over speed it will cause alarm on the bus and turn on the red light. It also detects how many seats are empty by load sensor. The passenger can use the web server to decide when to catch the bus to schedule a journey. For the central tracking system this program can easily be extended to track all buses. Efficient route management and queries can easily be done through the central server system.en_US
