Abstract

Due to climate change and unpredictable rainfall, ground water levels are currently declining as well. For agricultural plants and crops, water is a need. Therefore, I have created a novel proposal for a smart irrigation system for the benefit of farmers as well as for farms. The water vapor level and temperature around the plant are both sensed by the humidity and temperature sensor. When a plant's soil moisture is low enough, water will be supplied from a reservoir using a level sensor, which monitors the reservoir's water level and then communicates the information to the controlling unit (Arduino Nano). Data is collected from sensors by the controlling unit (Arduino Nano), processed, and sent through IoT to the destination. This article provides an overview of system installation, system design, and system operation.
