Item Design and Evaluation of 20Gbps Inter Satellite Optical Wireless Communication System for improved distance and performance(Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, 2019-09) Faisal, Mohammad; Noman, Kazi Ishtiak HasanIn this present day world, satellite innovation plays a significant role. It is necessary to be sent data which obtained from the different orbits of satellites. So, it is required to have a link between the satellites to send these data. Hence, Inter satellite Optical Wireless Communication (Is-OWC) approach arises. Is-OWC system is high, small size, bandwidth, and light weight, low power and low cost and is therefore chosen over existing microwave satellite systems for reaching in space in the future. However the system has various limitations such as attenuations due to climate conditions, glimmers which limit its performance and diminishes its accessibility. The system also has trade-offs in the efficient design for higher distance coverage with better performance. In this paper, a 20 Gbs Is-OWC system with improved performance and longer distance is introduced. The proposed system is designed and evaluated using Optisystem Software 16 version. The proposed system provides better performance of Q factor and BER for the distance of 20,000 km. The distance is improved by using optical amplifier in the transmitter.Item Investigation on Wind Power Generation for Dhaka Chittagong Highway Based on Vertical Turbine(Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, 2019-10) Billa, Md.Bakey; Shawon, Md. Omar FarukWind power or wind energy is the use of air flow through wind turbines to provide the mechanical power to turn electrical generators and traditionally do other work. Wind power is a sustainable and renewable alternative for burning fossil fuels, and has much less effect on the environment. Electrical energy demand has been continuously increasing. Power generation using wind turbines is becoming viable solution as there is a demand for cleaner energy sources. Vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) are more efficient than the horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs) for low wind speed applications because of their ability to capture wind flowing from any direction. Therefore, VAWT systems are more suitable for residential and urban applications as they are universally adaptable. Major limitation observed in VAWT is high drag and turbulent force produced by the blade. In this thesis we are utilizing the air force that is generated due to vehicle velocity in Dhaka-Chittagong highway. We are using NACA-2424 as airfoil. NACA 2424 airfoil is selected and analyzed within the required range of Reynolds numbers and wind speeds in Q-Blade software. It is found that the power output is 100W at wind speed of 6 m/s. The estimated price per turbine is approximately 30500 takas only.Item Design And Analysis Of A High Gain Microstrip Patch Antenna For X-Band Satellite Applications(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2017-05) Tamim, Ahmed Mahfuz; Chywdhry, Md. Abdur RahmanItem Design And Implementation Of Wireless Charging System For Electric Vehicle(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018-05) Istiak, Mohammad; Al Mamun, Mohammad AbdullahWireless power transfer (WPT) using magnetic resonance, it is the technology which could set human free from the annoying wires. WPT technology is developing rapidly in recent years. At kilowatts power level, the transfer distance increases from several millimetres to several hundred millimetres with a grid to load efficiency above 90%. The advances make the WPT very attractive to the electric vehicle (EV) charging applications in both stationary and dynamic charging scenarios. This project used the WPT technology to charge the battery of a car. By introducing WPT in electric vehicles, the obstacles of cost can be easily mitigated. In today’s world usage of vehicle rapidly increasing and at the same time decreasing the fuel level and now in electric vehicle wired technology is also repellent and cause electric shock sometimes due to several factors. And sometimes this wired technology of charging causes person injured. Also cost of wired technology is higher due to need of wires. Thus WPT technology can mitigate these factors greatly. By using this technology we can reduce the cost. And charging procedure of this type is very easy, convenient, and safe. In present time of technology wireless power transfer technology is more popular due to its smartness and advantages. By adopting this system it can helps to mitigate several problems occur due to wired technology such as electric shocks, cost, hassles due to wire, charging procedureItem Design And Implementation Of Long Range Spy Robot(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018-05) Hasan, Mohammad Rafiqul; Hasan, Md. But there is an accident issue as well which a real concern for this sector. In the current railway system, it is more necessary to have safety elements in order to avoid accidents. One of the important causes that can provoke serious accidents is the existence of crack on the track. At present, the cracks in the railway tracks is checked by manual system. Therefore, this project works deals with one of the efficient method to avoid train accident and crack detection. The design of while system consists a Global Position System (GPS) module, Global System for Mobile (GSM) module and Ultrasonic sensor. In this project work, ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the crack in the railway tracks by measuring distance from track to sensor, If the distance is greater than the assigned value, then the microcontroller identifies there is a crack. The longitude and latitude of the track location is messaged to the nearest railway station using GPS and GSM module. It is an effective and cost efficient system for railway applicationsItem Design And Implementation Of Automatic Three Phase Cable Fault Detection For Underground Cable(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018-12) BISWAS, AMIT; JOBAYER, KAZI MDThis project is to determine the distance of underground cable fault from the base station in kilometers and displayed on the LCD screen. Underground cable system is a common followed in major areas in Metro cities in developed countries. While a fault occurs for some reason, at that time the fixing process related to that particular cable is difficult due to exact unknown location of the fault in the cable. This technology is used to find out the exact location of the fault and to calculate data in onboard system of this proposed hardware module at the same time it display on the LCD screen. This system uses the standard theory of Ohms law, i.e., when a low DC voltage is applied at the feeder end through a series resistor i.e. cable lines, then the current would vary depending upon the location of the fault in the cable as the resistance is proportional to the distance. In case, there is a short circuit (Line to Ground), the voltage across series resistors changes according to the resistance that changes with distance. This is then fed to an ADC to develop precise digital data, which the programmed microcontroller of the ATmega328 family displays in kilometers.Item Design And Implementation Of Accident Protection Technology Of Launch(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018) ISLAM, MD. SAYED; AZAD, MD. HOSSAINTo keep our surrounding environment clean and healthy only two things are needed, the first one is the awareness of people and the other one is proper monitoring and management system of corresponding authority. In developed countries, their garbage system is very much efficient and strong. But in our country, due to lack of public awareness and proper management from authority, environment is becoming polluted day by day. A vast implementation of technology has appeared in waste management system in developed countries so that they can handle this huge work very easily. The authority of our country uses out-dated technology, for that reason their process cannot adapt with our ever-increasing population and problems. To make our existing waste management system efficient and effective, we have proposed a viable solution named Smart Waste Monitoring and Management System based on socio-economic status of Bangladesh. The proposed project is a website based dustbin and air quality regulation system which can be used in order to establish an efficient and smart garbage management protocol. The proposed website contains real time data visualization of the garbage level inside and the irritating gas level around the dustbin. Sulphureted Hydrogen (H2S), Ammonia (NH3), NOx, Alcohol (C2H5OH), Benzene (C6H6), Smoke, CO2 etc. are some of the unhealthy gases usually found around dustbins. For this purpose different gas detector sensors named MQ-135, MQ-136 and MQ-137 are used to detect toxic and uncomfortable gas level of the polluted area. To detect garbage level of the dustbins, we have used ultrasonic sensor. By tracking the position of garbage bin using GPS (Global Positioning System) system of Google, dustbin monitoring operator can inform the nearest waste collector if the waste level crosses its predefined mark or the toxic and unhealthy gas level increases over its tolerable limit. An effective and strong waste management system can increase awareness of public about cleanliness. Our proposed system is a solution which has a perfect collaboration of manpower and effective technology. If the authority decides to implement this system, it is likely to bring about a revolutionary improvement in this sector in Bangladesh.Item Developing a self-learning braille kit for visually impaired people(Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018) AHMED, RUBEL; NOMAN, MOHAMMAD IFTIKHAR RAHMANBengali Braille kit is a very essential device for learning of visually impaired people in Bangladesh.
