Abstract:
The need for this translation arose from the
dire need for such a translation in the Bengali
society. In spite of the objective difficulties, and in
spite of the negative impact of the lack of the
contextual originality which is much linked to the
environment, life and Sharia requirements call for
such a translation, with a view to realizing a deeper
understanding of the meanings of the Quran end
reinforcing the Muslims' relation with it.
There have been several attempts at the
translation of the meanings of the Quran in Asia: in
Turkish language and Persian. Non-Muslims also
had their own trials with the purpose of the
deformation of the Quran and rigging its
judgments.
Islam is well established through the history of
Bangladesh. This motivated a good number of
translations. This study aims at reviewing these
translations, investigating them and presenting
them together with related criticisms for the benefit
of researchers in this field.
