Item Islamization of Knowledge: An exploratory study of concepts, issues and trends(International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Development, 2014) Uddin, Md. Helal; Mazumder, Manjurul AlamThe Religion before Allah is Islam (Sura al-Imran-verse-19); it (Islam: Submission to his will)) is the ultimate guideline for every action of human beings. Almighty Allah (SWT) had given the knowledge for mankind and it was sacred, but with the passage of time, the application of this knowledge is mixed with human error, prejudice, passion and self- interest. So it is the supreme responsibility for human beings is to revive knowledge from the black box of human error, prejudice, passion and self- interest according to the light of revealed knowledge. Only revealed knowledge can offer ultimate relief to society. Islamization of knowledge does not mean that the curriculum of Islamic education is exclusively for Muslims, but due to the universality of Islam, Islamic education is applicable to and can accommodate all of the mankind. The objective of this study is to expose an overview on the Basics of Islamization of knowledge and to show the Islamization of knowledge movements all over the world as well as to formulate a framework based on SWOT analysis of Islamization of knowledge. This study will help the researcher to make their endeavor for Islamization of knowledge in large context of disciplines.Item Measuring the Performance of Islamic Banks in Bangladesh: An Exploratory Study(Centre for Research on Islamic Management and Business, 2014-06) Uddin, Md. HelalBanking sectors is called the life blood of economy in Bangladesh, Islamic Banks playing a vital rule in this regard. The deposits and investment of the Islamic banking systems are now 25 percent & 30 percent respectively of all private banks deposits and investments. The aim of this paper is to measure the performance of Islamic Banks of Bangladesh for the sake of stakeholders to make economic decision. For this study, eleven trend equations have been tested for different activities of the Islamic banks & Square of correlation coefficient (r2) has also been tested for all trend equations. It is observed that all Islamic banks are able to achieve a stable growth & Square of correlation coefficient (r2) is positive, in many cases above 0.90. It indicates the prospect of Islamic banks in Bangladesh is very bright. The study recommended stakeholders to rely on Islamic Banks for making economic decision as well as recommended Banks to increase the level of compliance with Shariah and state policy to increase their performance.
