The Adoption of Big Data in Selected Information Institutions in Bangladesh: a study
(Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal), 2022) Alam, Md. Jahangir; Islam, Md. Nurul; Islam, Md. Monirul; Chakravarty, Rupak
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to identify the big data adoption in information institutions as well as to justify the understanding and expertise level of information professionals. The study tried to identify the adoption of big data in the information institutions of Bangladesh. Materials and Methods: A structured questionnaire was adapted cautiously for conducting the study. The Questionnaire was sent to more than 50 professionals of information institutions via email and FB messenger. The respondents are the professionals and faculty members who had the minimum qualification of bachelor/master /postgraduate degree in information science and library management. Among them, 25 respondents from 20 information institutions replied. Result: The study found that most of the information institutions yet to adopt big data properly in Bangladesh. Twenty percent of institutions adopted big data whereas eighty percent did not adopt it even some of the institutions are not aware of big data. The study found that sixty percent of professionals are not aware of the monthly amount of data used in their institutions. 2 The results found that information professionals are, in general, positive in big data adoption. The study also assessed the understanding level of them. Conclusion: The effort has been made to explore the current awareness activities of big data and its adoption in the information institutions of Bangladesh for the first time that will trigger further study on big data.

Mobile Commerce and Mobile Payment: A Study on Islamic Perspective
(CRP, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh, 2010-12) Islam, Md. Monirul; Masum, Abdul Kadar Muhammad
Electronic commerce, very important part of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), is one of the most common business terms in use in 21st century. Developed countries are more popular because of their rapid growth of ICT, e-commerce and online transaction. But in developing or under develop countries the scenario is different. Technical laggings, dearth of infrastructure, infeasibility of the existing frameworks and people apathy are the main reasons behind this. There are several alternative ways of e-commerce and online transaction. Mobile payment, a way of online transaction, may be beneficial way of payment for developing countries because of its mobile network infrastructure. In this paper, a model of electronic payment system for M-Commerce has been proposed and analyzed the security for the system. This proposal may be suitable for developing countries where mobile phones are available but other e-payment tools like debit and credit cards are not much available. It also identifies what Islam has to say about our current use of M-Commerce and the way Islam can offer guidance for its use in the future. The paper also touches on the conditions and criteria that must be met in order to make an M-Commerce transaction acceptable under Islamic perspective.

The Need for Computer Ethics Course for the Students of CSE/CS or Equivalent Discipline in Bangladesh
(CRP, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh, 2012-12) Islam, Md. Monirul; Alam, Mohammed Shamsul; Ahsan, Tanveer
Ethics has long been a part of engineering education and practices. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is not an exception. In this study, however, it was revealed that very few universities of Bangladesh have a course on Computer Ethics in their respective curriculum of Computer Science and Engineering. But the scenario of other countries are completely different; many universities in the world offer courses like Computer Ethics, Social and Ethical Implications of Computing or courses with similar title and content. There is an increasing trend towards teaching ethics as a major course within CSE departments. This paper examines the necessity of incorporating a Computer Ethics course in the curriculum of CSE in the universities of Bangladesh and suggests an outline for the course. It suggests some topics that can be covered in a Computer Ethics course and offers some practical suggestions also for making the course an effective one. This study also examines ethics in computer education in the light of the Holly Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S).

Status of Koha-ILS in Medical libraries of Bangladesh
(International Science Community Association in India, 2019-07-20) Islam, Md. Monirul; Kabir, S.M. Humayun; Karmakar, Bepin Behary; Afrin, Tashnova; Islam, Md. Nurul; Uddin, Md. Mohi
The main purpose of this research to present the current status of in conducting library operations. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and the data was collected using questionnaire from 24 Medical and Health institutional libraries in Bangladesh. frequency count and percentage. The study found that only three medical and health libraries are using Koha One medical University, one medical College and one health institutional library are using SLiMS OSS. One medical college library uses customized software. Some libraries to conduct the library services properly. But Most of the medical and health libraries of Bangladesh are not aware about library automation system. This paper draws the attention of institute’s authority to embrace Open Source Software (OSS) as a tool which improves the standard of library services. The authors are the medical and health library professionals who are inv health libraries in Bangladesh. This will reflect a tremendous impact on library professionals to adapt them with the automation process in the medical and health libraries in Bangladesh

Sufficient Condition and Algorithm for Hamiltonian in 3-Connected 3-Regular Planar Bipartite Graph
(International Journal of Computer Applications, 2015-05) Khaliluzzaman, Md.; Islam, Md. Monirul; Hasan, Md.Monjur
A graph G (V, E) is said to be Hamiltonian if it contains a spanning cycle. The spanning cycle is called a Hamiltonian cycle of G and G is said to be a Hamiltonian graph. A Hamiltonian path is a path that contains all the vertices in V (G) but does not return to the vertex in which it began. In this paper, we study Hamiltonicity of 3-connected, 3-regular planar bipartite graph G with partite sets V=M  N. We shall prove that G has a Hamiltonian cycle if G is balanced with M = N. For that we present an algorithm for a bipartite graph KM,N where M>3, N>3 and M,N both are even to possess a Hamiltonian cycle. In particular, we also prove a theorem for S proper subset (M or N) of V the number of components W (G-S) = S implies the graph has a Hamiltonian path
