Abstract

AI Mahmud is a great poet in the field of Bengali literature. He contributed a lot for development of Bengali Literature through poems, short stories, novels etc. He is reputed for his poetic book 'SonaliKabin'. In the early years, he wrote poems and stories on woman and love etc. while he was an atheist. He continued to produce literature demonstrating his faith in Islam since 1974 undergoing criticism of progressive group. The researcher attempts to focus briefly on the life of the poet, his belief, and criticism about his literary works
