The role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in preaching Islam at present context
(CRP, Center for Research and Publication, 2021-12) Chowdhury, Md. Shahnur Azad
Agenda-setting and representation are the media's most significant functions. The media, particularly from the West, seems to be constantly in the negative light of Islam. The fanning of Islamophobia, a type of concerted effort aimed at scaring the world of the animosity and enmity imposed by Islam, is a more recent Western media phenomenon against Islam. In response to such a striking negative portrayal of Islam, the Muslim world needs to respond. Contrary to what is commonly considered by the West, Islam means 'submission' and 'obedience' in its real nature, a religion that calls for resignation to Allah and encourages and protects the individual's peace. The primary purpose of this paper is therefore to discuss the use of a spectrum of media to disseminate information and news on the true teachings of Islam to Muslims as well as non-Muslims. The proper propagation and comprehension of Islam can be improved through the media by emphasizing the fundamental principles of Islam's teachings.

Critique of ethnic nationalism in the teachings of Said Nursi: A study of nationalism and the question of Islam in Bangladeshi identity
(CRP, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh, 2017-06) Rabeya, Sumaiya; Hossain, Mohammad
Bediuzzaman Said Nursi, a strong proponent of Muslim unity, was always against what he called negative nationalism in Muslim societies. While he believed that nationalism could play a positive role in arousing compassion of Muslims, he also warned of its potential drawbacks and adverse consequences as a tool for domination and causing harm. Ethnic nationalism is primarily seen in highly homogenous societies throughout the world today. Bangladeshi nationalism, as developed by its proponents, has however, failed to be inclusive, and instead works within a framework which tends towards exclusion. This paper, through a discursive discussion of historical narratives and aspects of identity formation, argues that recent manifestations of the ills of Bangladeshi nationalism, stems from deeper issues related to failure of resolving the place of religious identity, mainly Islamic identity, within the Bangladeshi identity. This has led to aspects of negative nationalism, such as deeply polarized society, and aided in maintaining the divisive dichotomy of the secular and religious within the nation state in Bangladesh.

Islam took about six hundred years for its advent into Bengal with political conquest by Bakhtiyar Khalji in the early 13th century, while it had come to Arabia at the beginning of the 7th century. But long before the conquest of Bengal by Bakhtiyar Khalji, the Arab traders had established commercial relation with the coastal lands of Bengal. Islam began to enter into Bengal with the hands of these early Arab Muslim traders. With the beginning of this early advent, Islam started to enter into Bengal through both the sea and land routes on different circumstances. Though there were many other reasons and grounds for the advent of Islam in Bengal, but the economic perspectives were the foremost and forerunner of the causes.

    Industrial Relations: An Islamic Approach
(CRP, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh, 2011-12) Hoque, Nazamul
Industrial relations (IR) have been found to have a significant impact on the organizational performance. Good industrial relation is the outcome of integrated and just efforts of employer, managers, workers, and state. Since Islam is a complete code of life, all Muslims must abide by the rules and regulations of Islam in developing and maintaining industrial relations. But lack of adequate Islamic guidelines regarding IR is one of the very important constraints to the way of practicing it from Islamic point of view in the Muslim world. So this study is an attempt to minimize the gap found therein. In this study some fundamental principles of Islamic IR are developed along with the specific roles of employers, managers, workers, and state from Islamic perspectives. If all parties perform their roles as per the guidelines of this study it is expected that each and every party would be benefited highly through developing good IR both here and here after.
