A Compact Wideband Circularly Polarized Patch Antenna for 5G Applications
(Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, 2023-07) Mahmud, Shakil
The Internet of Things, or IoT, is a network of mechanical and digital computing devices that are networked and have the ability to send data across a network without the need for human or computer involvement. IoT devices are being used more often every day. The addition of 5G technology will increase the responsiveness of IoT devices. As a consequence, a lot of study has been conducted, with researchers offering their ideas for a good antenna design. However, it is challenging for wireless communication experts to create small, wideband antennas that can concurrently cover all of the new 5G radio frequencies. This thesis paper reveals a wideband antenna that can simultaneously cover all of the 5G radio frequencies. The proposed antenna's dimensions for mm wave operation at 28GHz are 8.066×6.96×0.8 mm3 . Rogers RT5880LZ, which has a thickness of 0.8 millimeters, is the substrate that is being utilized. The 3.2 GHz bandwidth of 28 GHz corresponds to an obtained gain of 4.484 dBi. The resonance reflection coefficient of the suggested antenna is -22.25 dB. CST Microwave Studio 2018 was used to create and test the suggested antenna. The simulation results are suitable for common 5G applications.
